ACT NOW: Tell legislators to pass tax fairness bills that will help hardworking Colorado families build back after COVID!

Let's chose prosperity for Coloradans - not tax breaks for corporations. No matter our race or where we come from, hardworking Coloradans and small businesses are the ones powering the state’s economic well-being. In return, we all want the same kind of opportunities for our families and communities.

As we build back after COVID, it’s time for our lawmakers to do their duty and ensure that hardworking Coloradans are able to have a good quality of life by passing critical tax fairness legislation.

Two bills have been introduced in the Colorado State Legislature that will increase tax credits for more Coloradans: HB21-1311 expands the number of Coloradans who will get the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit and HB21-1312 eliminates corporate tax loopholes instead of cutting our investments in schools, roads, and our communities.

Legislators need to focus on helping those hit hardest by the pandemic, and the best way to do that is to put more money in Coloradans’ pockets.

ACT NOW – tell your legislators to pass tax fairness legislation and put more money in the pockets of hardworking Coloradans!

Dear [Legislator Name],

I’m writing today to urge you to focus on helping those who have been hit hardest by COVID by expanding eligibility for the Earned Income Tax Credit (HB21-1311) and putting money back in the pockets of hardworking Coloradans (HB21-1312).

Coloradans who earn low to moderate incomes pay a larger share of their income in taxes than the wealthiest people and corporations in our state. Our tax code is badly in need of reform, especially as Coloradans struggle to recover from the pandemic.

Passing HB21-1311 and HB21-1312 would expand the number of Coloradans who will get the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit and eliminate corporate tax loopholes instead of cutting our investments in schools, roads, and our communities.

Colorado needs to focus on helping those hit hardest by the pandemic, and the best way to do that is to put more money in Coloradans’ pockets. Thank you for working to provide long-term health and economic benefits for Colorado kids, their families, and the economy.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
