Legislative Report Released Today Reviews Critical Bills from 2022 Legislative Session

DENVER – Today, Centennial State Prosperity released its 2022 legislative report, which highlights policy wins for hardworking Coloradans and small businesses during the spring legislative session.

“Colorado families are working harder than ever but too many are still struggling to make ends meet,” said Austin Blumenfeld, Executive Director of Centennial State Prosperity. “This year, we achieved some big wins for Colorado families and small businesses helping all Coloradans prosper, not just special interests and greedy corporations. From lowering health care costs to safeguarding our democracy to getting folks the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, we’re so proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish this year with the help of our incredible advocates and our partner organizations.”

Centennial State Prosperity helped give hardworking Coloradans and small businesses a voice at the capitol, generating thousands of calls and emails to legislators, and engaging and training hardworking Coloradans, patients, doctors, and others to testify before legislative committees on critical bills.

Myra Hanson, a teacher from Fort Morgan testified in support of House Bill 1370, which makes prescription medicine and health care more affordable and dependable by requiring transparency and accountability when it comes to costs, cutting red tape that stands in the way of better care, and ensuring cost savings go back in the pockets of consumers.

“As someone with a chronic condition who has been forced to jump through hoops and pay sky high prices just to get the care I need to live, I know how critical it is to pass legislation like HB1370 that puts patients over health care industry profits,” Hanson said.” I am thankful to Colorado lawmakers for prioritizing better access to quality health care in our state and to organizations like Centennial State Prosperity for amplifying voices like mine.”
